# Axero connector

Axero is a digital workplace and intranet platform for managing knowledge, communication, and collaboration. The Axero connector ingests content from Axero spaces into Search AI.

## Prerequisites

Before configuring the connector:

* You must have an Axero account with permission to access the content you want to ingest.
* Obtain either:
  * an **API Key**, or
  * a **Bearer Token**
* Note your Axero host URL (for example, `https://company.axerosolutions.com/axero`)

## Step 1: Generate an API Key in Axero

1. Log in to your Axero account.
2. Go to **My Account** and select **Preferences**.
3. In the left navigation, click **My REST API Key**.
4. Click **Create** to generate a new API key.
5. Copy the generated key.

## Step 2: Configure the Axero Connector

1. Navigate to **Knowledge Bases** > **Axero**.
2. Select or create an authentication profile.
   1. Click **New Auth Profile**.
   2. Select one of the following authentication types:
      1. API Key
      2. Bearer Token
   3. Add a unique name for the profile, description of the profile and provide the key.
   4. After saving the profile, return to the connector configuration.
3. Configure the connection:
   1. **Axero Auth profile** - Select the auth profile to use for authentication.
   2. **Axero Host URL** - Base URL of your Axero instance.
4. Once the connection is established, the available Axero spaces are loaded automatically.

## Step 3: Select spaces

Choose the content you want to ingest. You can choose one of the following options:

* **Selected Spaces** - Ingest content only from the selected Axero spaces. Select one or more spaces from the list.
* **All Spaces** - Ingest content from all accessible spaces in the tenant.

## Step 4: Configure content

Choose which content types to ingest and configure ingestion options.

Supported content types include the following:

* Articles
* CMS Pages
* Forums
* Announcements
* Blogs
* Wikis
* Files

**Content options**

| Fold comments into parent content | Includes comments within the parent article, blog, wiki, or forum document during indexing. |
| Enforce Axero space permissions | Resolves active space users and enforces Axero access permissions during ingestion. Content without valid permission evidence is skipped. |
| File policy | Specifies which file formats are processed during ingestion. |
| Max file size (MiB) | Maximum file size allowed for ingestion. Files larger than this limit are skipped. |
| Modified on or after | Ingest only content that has been modified on or after the specified date. Useful for incremental ingestion. |

## Step 4: Preview and activate

Before activating the connector, validate the configuration.

| Generate proposal | Generates a package proposal based on the selected configuration. |
| Run dry run | Validates the configuration without ingesting content. |
| Approve & Start | Activates the connector and starts content ingestion. |

## Access control

When **Enforce Axero space permissions** is enabled, the connector retrieves user permissions from Axero and applies them during indexing.

Only users with access to a space can retrieve its content through the knowledge base.
