ivr_digit_input tool plays a prompt and collects a sequence of keypad digits, such as an account number, ZIP code, or PIN.
When to use
Useivr_digit_input when the caller must enter more than one digit. For a single-key menu choice, use ivr_menu.
Collection stops when the maximum number of digits is reached, the ending key is pressed, or the inter-digit timeout expires. For secure collection of sensitive values, see DTMF support in Artemis voice agents.

noMatchConfig.maxRetries is greater than 0, you must also set minDigits or validation.allowedLengths. Otherwise every entry matches and the retries can never be used, so the call is rejected.Returns
The tool returns the collected digits and the outcome:success, noInput, or noMatch.
The collected digits are returned as a protected token ({{PII:explicit_dtmf:<id>}}), not as raw digits, so that a keypad entry such as a PIN does not reach the model or traces. The platform restores the real value only where a step needs it.
